Saturday I had the honor of photographing a surprise engagement! My first! I was nervous and excited to be apart of a moment like this.
Eric had emailed me a month or two prior explaining his plan and asked me to capture this surprise for them. He explained that he & Alyssa met while attending Whittier College. They purchased a brick together for their graduating class and that’s where he would be proposing. We talked about a plan of how the event would unfold. I would arrive early and pretend to be taking pictures of the campus and he would text me when they pulled up. What really happened: I hid behind a tree and his text arrived after they were already walking up to the brick. hehe.. It all worked out more than fine!
(Alyssa and I, both cried!)
After the proposal, they opted for some impromptu portraits.. She was in shock the whole time, while Eric played it cool. They chatted about who knew of his plan and she asked “what about the pizza? Are we still supposed to get the pizza?” No pizza. She got a gorgeous diamond ring instead.
They told me how they met at a Toga party in this very front yard..
Congratulations Eric & Alyssa!
