This wedding was a pretty unique wedding in more ways than one. Denise and I share a nephew, Johnathan (from either parents side). We’ve known each other for years but haven’t had the chance to get to know each other because Denise lives in New York. I accidentally ran into Denise’s parents at the Wayfarers Chapel while meeting other clients for their wedding. Denise called me surprised that I did wedding photography and it was history from there!
Denise and Damien have a sweet story. Denise moved to New York City to pursue her career on Broadway. While working at a restaurant, she met Damien; who moved to New York from France. Damien was the manager for the restaurant they worked at and apparently, it was a scandal! (So romantic, right?!) They’ve dated for several years and have traveled to many places all over the world and thus inspired their travel themed wedding. While scouting The Queen Mary for photo locations, I asked Denise what kind of photos were important to her. She said the most amazing thing a bride has said to me, “He’s my best friend. We do everything together and I just want you capture that.”
Their wedding was gorgeous! It was unique, romantic and pretty but the best part was that it was FUN! They genuinely enjoyed themselves! They joked and goofed all day; in between all the kissing, of course!
Denise & Damien, I wish you two the best! I know you’ll make your lives a BLAST & love each other to the fullest! xoxo
